National Institute of Agronomic Research

INRA (Institut, National de la Recherche Agronomique) is the focal point of the agricultural research and an autonomous government institution within the Ministry of Agriculture responsible for crop and livestock research. INRA Morocco has mandate to carry out programs of genetic improvement, genetic resources conservation, agronomy, machinery, and technology transfer. INRA Morocco, has developed most of cereals, food legume crops and some forage (barley, Durum, bread wheat, triticale, lentils, chickpeas, faba beans, vetch and peas) cultivated in Morocco. It has around 120 scientists located in different regional research centers. INRA has 9 scientific Departments and 10 Regional Research Centers. The regional Research Center of Settat will be directly involved in this project in collaboration with the other centers as needed. This center has contributed significantly to the development of technologies that improve water use efficiency of cereals and food legumes.
